Constitution 

Article 1. 

  1. The official name of the society shall be The Toronto Professional Fire Fighters’ Celtic Society.
  1. All members shall maintain and support the good name of the Society and the Toronto Professional Fire Fighters’ Local 3888.
  1. No member shall make use of the name of the Toronto Professional Fire Fighters’ or the Celtic Society without first obtaining permission from all necessary parties, with full explanation.

Article 2. 

  1. Membership in the society shall be open to any active or retired fire fighter as well as other participants who have been properly sponsored.
  1. Members must complete the proper application form, adhere to the constitution, and behave in a professional manner.  Anyone in violation of our constitution will be asked to resign as a member of the society.

Article 3. 

  1. The society shall have an Executive Board who will be elected by a majority of the membership annually.
  1. The Executive Board shall consist of: President, 1st Vice President, Vice President in charge of media relations, Secretary-Treasurer, Social Director, Pipe Band Liaison, and others as may be required.
  1. The Executive Board shall be elected at the start of each year.
  1. There will be no remuneration for any elected or appointed positions within The Society.

 Article 4.

  1. A two thirds vote by the members in attendance shall be required in  order to amend the constitution of the society.

Article 5.

  1. All income received by The Toronto Professional Fire Fighters’ Celtic Society shall be deposited in a proper financial institution.
  1. An annual internal audit shall be performed yearly on all the finances of the society, and shall be reviewed by the Finance Committee of Local 3888.
  1. We shall be a non-profit organization with support for the Pipe Band, Charities, and general administration of The Society.
